Who hasn't heard of Not Your Father's Root Beer yet?!
This stuff is fantastic and best believe I have a review coming very soon.
Due to the hype going around though I wanted to push this new recipe out ASAP.
It really was fantastically easy and absolutely delicious.
What you will need:
Crock Pot
1/2 Cup of BBQ-Home made or store brand
3 lbs chicken (I slow cooked mine before hand in a crock pot for 5 hours-I used a medium sized chicken..some people prefer to use thighs though. They are more manageable and you won't have to take the bones out.)
1/4 Cup ketchup
1 Tablespoon minced garlic
1 Tablespoon minced onion
1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
2 Tablespoons oregano
1 Teaspoon pepper
1 Teaspoon basil
1/4 Teaspoon celery root
1 Tablespoon salt
2/3 Cup olive oil
2 Tablespoons water
1/4 Cup brown sugar
1/4 Cup Not Your Father's Root Beer
1 Teaspoon liquid smoke
1/2 Cup apple cider vinegar
1/8 Cup molasses
1/8 Cup soy sauce
2 Tablespoons honey
Chili or hot suave to taste-optional-I used hot sauce
1/4 Teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions:
1. Shred your chicken
2. Combine all ingredients in crock pot
3. Cook on high for 3 hours
4. Check every 20 minutes and stir
Easy peasy!!
